What is Therapeutic Consultation?
Therapeutic Consultation is a service available through the Family and Individual Support (FIS) VA Waiver Program. It is a professional consultation service designed to support those with developmental disabilities/behavioral challenges, and their families.
What is the Consultant's Role?
The consultant’s role is to:
- Complete comprehensive assessments to determine the individual's strengths, deficits, areas of need, and behavioral challenges.
- Collaborate with families, caregivers and other providers of support services to work toward a comprehensive treatment plan.
- Create customized Behavior Support Plans with individually focused interventions.
- Provide training and ongoing support for family members, caregivers, and service providers to ensure cohesive treatment planning and implementation.
What Can I Expect:
When receiving Therapeutic Consultation Services, through Little Blessings ABA, the individual and family/caregiver will be meeting with a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) who will design a treatment plan tailored to meet the individual's specific needs. You can also expect to receive:
